Description
Summary:Moral and ethics are terms that examine the issue of human behavior principles in their daily lives. Human morality go through ups and downs as they evolve, along with changes in other elements of life. According to the symptoms, present conditions indicate a moral contradiction in the personal traits of Indonesians, particularly the younger generation, as a result of the influence of modernity and globalization. In addition, the provision of moral education also faces obstacles because the existing educational facilities tend to only emphasize the aspect of knowing (cognitive) rather than being (moral and character). These problems will be the main issues of designing a green school project for children. The main objective of this project is as an educational facilities that emphasizes the aspects of knowing and being in a balanced way through a natural approach as an effective medium and learning environment. This project consists of green school typology which includes educational facilities (classrooms, management areas, and supporting facilities) and recreational facilities (gardens, livestock, fish ponds, and outdoor areas). The project is located on Jalan Barunagri, Lembang District, West Bandung Regency, West Java. This location is in a rural residential area with a natural orientation but still visible. Through the analysis of users, site, context, and project issues, design problem was obtained, namely the implementation of character education strategies through a nature-based learning environment. This project is based on the principles of Child Friendly Environment and Green Buildings. All of these theories then combined to formulate design strategies for space organization, form composition, spatial composition, building envelopes, and building systems that can provide meaningful life values, either directly or indirectly, to users, especially children as students in this project.
