A MODEL OF IMMUNOMODULATORY FOR COVID-19

Covid-19 or corona virus infection is caused by the Severe Acute Respiratory Syndrome Coronavirus-2 (SARS-CoV-2) virus which infects the respiratory tract. This virus spread rapidly throughout the world including Indonesia in March 2020. The number of Covid-19 cases in the world reached 535 million...

This virus spread rapidly throughout the world including Indonesia in March 2020. The number of Covid-19 cases in the world reached 535 million and in Indonesia it reached 6.06 million in June 2022. The government has taken various ways to reduce the spread of the virus. One way to prevent the spread of the corona virus is to increase the body’s immunity. The immune system plays an important role in the elimination of antigens (viruses or bacteria) that enter the body. Improving the body’s immunity can be done by taking immunomodulators. Immunomodulators are substances that help regulate the immune response. This immunomodulator will increase the number of T cells in the body that can trigger the production of antibodies by B cells. This study aims to determine a treatment model using an immunomodulator as an immune system enhancer. The model used is a system of differential equations stating healthy cells, infected cells, free viruses, B cells, and T cells. The rate of administration of the immunomodulators used vary from constant functions, sin functions, linear functions, quadratic functions, exponential functions, and periodic functions. In addition, immunomodulators such as vitamin C and red ginger are also used. Vitamin C is a vitamin that can prevent and treat respiratory infections by enhancing various immune cell functions. While red ginger functions as an antioxidant for the body. text
