WHO and AAP advised children aged 0-10 years to have screen time under 2 hours. However, the increasing need for gadget, both for education and entertainment, makes parents often forget these limits. In fact, too many screen time can affect children's development. Therefore, it is important to provide a way to give information so that parents know more about the impact of screen time. It is expected that from this design, the author can find out how to explain screen time to parents, design a book that is most appropriate to explain the child's screen time to parents, and increase parents' awareness about the importance of restrictions on screen time. In order for this purpose to be achieved, the author collects the required data through literature studies, interviews with trusted resources, comparative studies, and questionnaires on the target audience. From the collected data, the authors concluded that an illustration pocket book fits for a parent’s way to know about screen time. Besides being easy to carry everywhere, important information is packed and briefly presented as needed. The pocket book will also be a set with an activity book that are expected to help parents seek activities as an alternative to gadget. The visual style used tends to be playful, fun, and friendly so that parents feel comfortable when reading and won’t feel burdened or overwhelmed. The book’s content is more focused on situations that encourage parents to give a gadget to children so that parents can prevent doing it in the future. text |
