Description
Summary:An enrichment book is a type of companion book that can be used by students in school. Enrichment books are broader than textbooks students used in school. Mathematics is a subject that is still considered difficult. One of the strategies that can foster student interest in learning is to teach students through an ethnomathematical approach. Combining ethnomathematical approaches and using mathematics enrichment books can be an alternative to make learning more interesting and easier to understand. This project aims to analyze the group of ornaments contained in the sasambo batik pattern and to develop a mathematical enrichment book on ethnomathematical-based geometry transformation material in batik sasambo pattern which is suitable for students to use. Based on the analysis of seven sasambo batik motifs, it was found that the identified batik motifs contained only the frieze group and the wallpaper group. The types of each identified group are ????1 dan ????11 for the frieze group, and ????111, ????2????????, and ????4???????? for the wallpaper group. The approach used in the development of this book is the ADDIE model. ADDIE is an acronym for the stages carried out in developing an enrichment book. There are five stages in book development, namely the analysis stage, the design stage, the development stage, the implementation stage, and the evaluation stage. The Aspects assessed in validation and trial phase were material aspects, language aspects, presentation aspects, and graphic aspects. Validation was carried out by a material expert, a media expert, a mathematics teacher, and 30 students as trial participants. The validation results from material experts, media experts, and mathematics teachers show that the percentage of average scores are 72%, 81%, and 83%. Therefore, the book is considered suitable for usage. Furthermore, the trial results with students show that the percentage of average scores is 87%. Thus, the book is in an outstanding category. Therefore, the mathematics enrichment book on ethnomathematical-based geometry transformation material in batik sasambo is feasible.
