INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/65115 Concrete is an important building construction material and is very commonly used because it has several advantages such as high compressive strength, relatively cheaper, and others. The constituent materials of concrete consist of water, cement, fine aggregate, coarse aggregate, and additional materials. The characteristics of concrete are generally influenced by the characteristics of the pore structure of the concrete which includes the shape, size, volume, and distribution of pores. The structure of the pores in concrete is certainly influenced by the constituent materials of the concrete and the process of making concrete. Uniaxial compressive strength test was carried out in this study to obtain the mechanical properties of concrete in the form of compressive strength. The output of the test is a stress-strain curve, uniaxial compressive strength, Young's modulus and Poisson's ratio. Laboratory-based microstructural characterization methods are generally destructive, so we need a method that can analyze samples without damaging them. One of the characterization methods that can be used to analyze samples non-destructively is to use digital image-based analysis or what is known as the digital rock physics (DRP) method. This method utilizes a micro computed tomography (micro-CT) device to obtain a digital image of a sample through the acquisition process. In this study, the GE Phoenix V?tome?x s micro-CT device will be used to obtain a projected image of an instant concrete sample which will then be reconstructed to obtain a reconstructed image and further analyzed using software. Scanning on the concrete will be carried out both before and after the compressive strength test. The purpose of this research is to study the microstructural characteristics of instant concrete samples before and after the compressive strength test, to find out how cracks are produced in the concrete after the compression test and to determine the correlation between compressive strength and crack properties (aperture and connectivity density) resulting from the test process. compressive strength. From the results obtained, it is shown that there is a correlation between compressive strength and connectivity density and aperture, where the greater the compressive strength, the smaller the aperture and connectivity density values. text
