PERFORMANCE-BASED DESIGN FOR HIGH RISE REINFORCED CONCRETE BUILDING WITH FLAT SLAB SYSTEM IN JAKARTA
The structural design of high-rise buildings with flat slab systems continues to develop because of their aesthetic appeal and economic advantages. However, this system is prone to the punching shear failure at the slab-column connection so that its use is still limited. As an alternative, the flat...

However, this system is prone to the punching shear failure at the slab-column connection so that its use is still limited. As an alternative, the flat slab system is combined with shear walls which can provide great rigidity and strength to withstand lateral loads. In this thesis, a reinforced concrete office building structure with up to 50 floors is planned in Jakarta with a flat slab system to support gravity loads and shear walls to support lateral loads according to SNI 1726-2012 and SNI 2847-2013. The structure is designed using an equivalent lateral force procedure, then the nonlinear response of the structure due to the excitation of strong earthquake loads is evaluated using Performance-Based Design method (through pushover analysis and nonlinear time history) on Perform-3D. The results of the analysis show that the structure works well as expected, that the plastification occurs in the coupling beams and shear walls and the columns and slabs remain elastic. The performance level of the structure based on FEMA 365 is between Immediate Occupancy (IO) and Life Safety (LS). This shows that the flat slab structure system can be used as an alternative in the construction system for high-rise buildings in Jakarta up to 50 floors. text |
