IMPLIKASI DINAMIKA PANTAI TERHADAP BATAS LAUT DI PESISIR DAN MUARA SUNGAI PEUSANGAN, KABUPATEN BIREUEN, PROVINSI ACEH

Indonesia is an archipelagic state which has 17,504 islands which are connected by sea. A country is called an archipelagic state if the ratio between the area of the sea and the land area is 1:1 to 9:1, and two-thirds of Indonesia's territory consists of the sea which has potential natural res...

A country is called an archipelagic state if the ratio between the area of the sea and the land area is 1:1 to 9:1, and two-thirds of Indonesia's territory consists of the sea which has potential natural resources that have not been utilized optimally because of the government's orientation which still prioritizes development on land. Given the potential of resources that have not been utilized optimally, the determination of state and provinces sea boundaries is very important. However, the two sea boundaries use different references; the state sea boundary refers to the low-water line, whereas the provincial sea boundary refers to the high-water line, so that the outer limits of the two sea boundaries differ. The coastal zone is an area where the topography of the land borders the sea. The coastal zone is affected by natural phenomena from both the land and the sea, requires research to see the changes in coastlines and their implications for state and provinces sea boundaries. This study will look at changes in the coastline in the Peusangan Coast and Estuary, Bireuen Regency, Aceh Province from the multitemporal and multispectral SENTINEL-2 satellite imagery using the NDWI (Normalized-Difference Water Index) method to separate the sea and land. Then a shoreline correction with tidal data and National Bathymetry data. After that, buffering is carried out as far as 12 nautical miles to see changes in sea boundaries. The results of this study that the area around the Peusangan Coast and Estuary of the Peusangan River has accreted approximately 25 meters from 2000 to 2021 and 23 meters form 2006 to 2021. The result of the change in coastline shows that Base Point Number 180 is not the outermost point on the outermost island text
