ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECT OF RAINFALL INTENSITY AND THE CONTRIBUTION OF VEHICLE ACTIVITY TO PM2.5 CONCENTRATIONS IN CENTRAL JAKARTA
As the center of government, Central Jakarta has a role in the spread of PM2.5 pollutants due to the high activity of vehicles. PM2.5 is a pollutant that is harmful to health. One mechanism that can reduce PM2.5 concentration is rain due to the removal effect caused by the wet deposition process....

INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/65169 As the center of government, Central Jakarta has a role in the spread of PM2.5 pollutants due to the high activity of vehicles. PM2.5 is a pollutant that is harmful to health. One mechanism that can reduce PM2.5 concentration is rain due to the removal effect caused by the wet deposition process. But previous research has shown that at the time of rain with an intensity of < 5 mm / h there can be an increase in PM2.5 but does not consider the rate of emissions from vehicle activity at the time of rain. So that in this study, an analysis of the effect of rainfall with different intensities and vehicle activity as the main source of pollutants was carried out on changes in PM2.5 concentrations in Central Jakarta. In this study, PM2.5 concentration data, rainfall intensity data, wind speed data, and vehicle activity data per hour were used in Central Jakarta for the period 1 January – 31 December 2021. The data is then processed to see the characteristics of PM2.5, the removal effect, and the influence of rainfall and vehicle activity on PM2.5 concentrations in Central Jakarta. The results of this study show the occurrence of rain with moderate and heavy intensity can affect the decrease in PM2.5 concentration, while rain with very light to mild intensity can increase or decrease PM2.5 concentration. PM2.5 concentrations can increase during rains of very light to mild intensity when the initial concentration of PM2.5 before the rain event is of low value. The increase in PM2.5 concentration occurs in the morning when the rain event is very light to light accompanied by an increase in the speed of vehicles, but in the afternoon and evening, the decrease in the speed of vehicles during rain events does not contribute to a decrease in PM2.5 concentration. text |

As the center of government, Central Jakarta has a role in the spread of PM2.5
pollutants due to the high activity of vehicles. PM2.5 is a pollutant that is harmful
to health. One mechanism that can reduce PM2.5 concentration is rain due to the
removal effect caused by the wet deposition process. But previous research has
