ANALYSIS OF THE EFFECT OF WORK ACCIDENTS ON CONSTRUCTION PRODUCTIVITY IN THE IMPLEMENTATION OF OCCUPATIONAL SAFETY AND HEALTH (OHS)

The lack of fulfillment of requirements in the application of Occupational Safety and Health (K3) results in frequent work accidents in construction projects. Basically, anemployer who can carry out tasks in the work area well can increase construction productivity. However, the occurrence of wor...

Basically, anemployer who can carry out tasks in the work area well can increase construction productivity. However, the occurrence of work accidents results in the loss of working hours of workers victims of accidents, co-workers of victims, lost time for investigations, and even termination of work, which can reduce the value of construction productivity. This study aims to determine the effect of work accidents on construction productivity using the methods of Frequencies Analysis, Severity Level Analysis, T-Safe Value Analysis, Productivity Analysis, Simple Linear Regression Analysis, and Correlation Coefficient Analysis with the case study of the Indonesia-China High-Speed Rail Project Section 3, The Mahkama Agung's High-Rise Flats Construction Project, and the D.I. Gondang Irrigation Network Improvement Project. Based on the analysis of the relationship between the frequency of work accidents and the value of productivity, as well as the relationship between the severity of work accidents and productivity values using a simple linear regression analysis and correlation coefficient, the results were obtained that the number of work accidents and the number of losses of working hours due to accidents affect construction productivity with opposite relationships. The higher the number of work accidents and lost working hours, the lower the productivity value, and vice versa. Meanwhile, the average productivity decrease due to work accidents for the KCIC project was 0.0025%, the Mahkama Agung RSBT Project was 0.0513%, and the D.I Gondang Irrigation Network Improvement Project was 0.0795%. text
