Summary: | Game theory is a branch of mathematical science that studies strategic interaction
model between rational agents. This field focuses on decision-making studies in
situations determined by certain systems or social circumstances. With that, Game
Theory has a big role in social studies, logic, computer, and others.
RPG or Role-Playing Game is a type of game where its players are taking the roles
of one or more characters in a fictional setting. The goal of RPGs are different for
each games, but all of them focus on the happenings and development experienced
by the playable characters along the game. Generally how a certain RPG run is
determined by the game’s system that’s being influenced by certain choices taken
by the game’s players.
It was found that the decision-making process occurring in RPG would affect the
progression of the game. In this thesis, we will discuss the way to define Role-
Playing Game using the concepts found in game theory, by utilising the decisionmaking
factors done by the game’s players that are considered rational. Other than
that, we will discuss about one application of these concepts, which is automatic
battle. |
