Description
Summary:The construction of the Patimban Port is the implementation of a national strategic project. Patimban Port is located in Subang Regency, West Java. The construction of the Patimban port is the government's strategy to reduce capacity at the Tanjung Priok Port. Patimban Port is also expected to be a stimulator of regional development in the Subang Regency area. The port will be busy with loading and unloading activities on a large scale. In addition, there is a limited number of ships that can be moored at the Patimban Port, which is a maximum of 30 ships. Therefore, an anchorage area is required. The anchorage area is a location used by ships to wait when the capacity at the port is full. To determine the appropriate anchorage location, four data must be analyzed, namely sediment, water depth, port location and infrastructure, and other waterway users. Data processing is carried out using Geographic Information System (GIS) Software. Data processing uses georeferencing, overlay, and digitization methods. Georeferencing is carried out to provide a reference for certain coordinate systems and projections to data that do not yet have a coordinate system. The overlay is done to combine the four data so that the appropriate anchorage area can be determined. Digitization is done to convert analog data into digital format. After the anchorage area is determined, then the layout of the anchorage area is made. The results obtained from this final project are three anchoring areas based on the appropriate Japan International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and three other anchoring area recommendations, resulting in a Proposed Anchoring Area Map. The anchorage area obtained is expected to be a consideration for determining the anchorage area at Patimban Port.
