| Summary: | Tangerang City is a city with a very rapid growth due to its location and role as a buffer for the State Capital DKI Jakarta. This rapid development had various impacts on its environment, both positive and negative impacts. One of the negative impacts caused by the rapid development is environmental issues; few of the issues that are currently the main priority for the Tangerang City Government are pollution, garbage, and flooding. These issues can be helped with the presence of Green Open Space in Tangerang City, however the remaining land in Tangerang City is very limited. Thus, improving the quality of the existing Green Open Space, in this case Lake, which is neglected is one effective way. Lake is one form of a Green Open Space that can be developed into an effective space. Tangerang City is one of the cities that has many lakes, one of them is Bulakan Lake.
Bulakan Lake is a lake located in Periuk Regency, Tangerang City, which is designated by the Tangerang Government as a recreation space. Bulakan Lake has a strategic location and has been used as a reservoir for water absorption and a water reserve for the surrounding community. The main objective for this project is to create a community center that can provide a space for the environmental community in Tangerang City, as well as to escalate community knowledge and sensitivity to environmental issues. The goal of this project is also to minimize the impact of development on the environment and give a positive impact on the surrounding environment. With the escalated knowledge and sensitivity of the community to the environment around the area, it is hoped that this community center facility will become the initiator of the principles of life for the next generation to continue to protect the environment. This study will discuss the development for the Environment Community Center in Bulakan Lake, Tangerang as a solution to initiate the resolution of the environmental issues in Tangerang City.
