Summary: | Increasing ecosystem degradation is a major concern for sustainable development that will be even greater in the future as human needs for ecosystem services increase. Ecosystem services are goods or services provided by an ecosystem to humans and become the basis for the assessment (valuation) of an ecosystem. The lake is one of the places that provides a variety of ecosystem services. Ecosystem degradation of lakes can cause several threats, such as climate change, overfishing, and species invasion, which are certainly detrimental to the environment. This final project research aims to develop human pressure index in lake watershed areas in Southeast Asia based on land change data, namely agriculture, forests and urban areas in lake watershed areas from 2000 to 2018. The method used in this study is remote sensing with consideration cost and time conditioning and covers the earth's vast surface. The data used are lake, watershed, and land cover data. Image and product processing will be carried out on the Google Earth Engine (GEE) platform. The results obtained from this final project research are a map of the human pressure index on lake watersheds in Southeast Asia. From the results, it was found that 27 out of 50 watersheds experienced an increase in agriculture and 46 out of 50 watersheds experienced a decrease in forest area. Based on the results of the index map made, 23 lake watersheds are categorized as very critical.
