THE IDENTIFICATION THE EFFECT OF SEA BREEZE PHENOMENON ON PM2.5 DISTRIBUTION IN DKI JAKARTA

Air pollution is one of the crucial problems in Special Capital Region of Jakarta (DKI Jakarta). The impact of this problem is that there are 5,5 million people exposed to diseases related to air pollution with a loss of Rp. 21,5 trillion. In previous studies, it has been explained that when the cas...

The impact of this problem is that there are 5,5 million people exposed to diseases related to air pollution with a loss of Rp. 21,5 trillion. In previous studies, it has been explained that when the case of death due to air pollution is high, the concentration of PM2.5 is also high. It can be said that the concentration of PM2.5 is closely related to human health. This can happen because PM2.5 is a pollutant particle that can penetrate to the bronchi. One of the meteorological phenomena that can distribute PM2.5 is the sea breeze. When sea breezes occur, there will be a decrease or increase concentration in some areas. DKI Jakarta is a coastal area that also contains this phenomenon. In this study, the detection of the Sea-Breeze Front (SBF) line was used, which when it grows will produce cumulus clouds with an albedo value of 0,25 – 0,55, as a marker of sea breezes. In addition, meteorological parameters such as wind speed at an altitude of 10 meters, humidity and temperature values at an altitude of 1000 mb, and moisture transport are used to view meteorological conditions when sea breezes occur. The results of this study indicate that on October 12, 2021 there was a wind that led from the coast to the mainland of Jakarta at 14.00 WIB which caused the PM2.5 concentration value to be higher on the mainland than the coast of Jakarta. This wind is thought to be a sea breeze because at that time there was an increase in humidity, a decrease in temperature and the direction of wind speed and moisture transport from north to south of Jakarta. text
