Summary: | Management of lake water resources, especially water quality monitoring, is an important thing that must be considered. Water quality monitoring can be done through water quality analysis using several parameters including biological, physical, and chemical parameters. The purpose of this final project is to analyze lakes in the Southeast Asia region, which focuses on (1) lake water quality within a period of 5 (five) years (2017-2021), (2) analysis parameters include temperature, turbidity index, chlorophyll-a, and night light intensity, and (3) long-term analysis using time series modeling.
The methodology used to obtain changes in the value of the water quality index is a data analysis method by scoring each parameter by looking at the percentage change in a predetermined period. By looking at the percentage change and the scoring value of each parameter, this is then used as material for analysis to see the potential for lake quality for the next several years on critical lakes, as well as an analysis of the sustainability of a lake's ecosystem by linking the water quality index with environmental factors, specifically the value of human pressure. Lake data were obtained from the HydroLAKES database. Data processing is carried out using a cloud platform, Google Earth Engine.
The water quality index value will be produced which explains changes in water quality within 5 (five) years in a lake, using a visualization of the coloring scale for each index class. The calculation of the water quality index value shows that most of the lakes in Southeast Asia are still declared safe based on the analytical parameters used. There are water quality parameters that do not change significantly, so the value of the changes is close to constant. This research is expected to assist efforts to achieve the goals of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), that is solving the problem of clean water and sanitation.
