Resort Design for Healing Retreat with Local Wisdom and Tropical Design Approach in Ubud, Bali is a resort that will be designed based on the increasing number of domestic and foreign tourists visiting the island of Bali with an average length of stay of more than three days at five-star hotels. Balinese people upholds the values of their cultural and noble traditions with Hindu philosophy as a guide for their lives. The thick cultural value also causes an influence on the planning of a building. The philosophy of life and the regulations made Tri Hita Karana and Asta Kosala Kosali as a guide in designing, as well as the seven rules of Balinese architecture. In addition, architectural and tropical design are also considered in the design to respond to climatic conditions in Ubud, Bali, which has high rainfall and solar heat. From this background, this design has the aim of reviewing the planting of elements of local wisdom in resort design and interior space arrangements, reviewing the application of healing retreat at resort facilities so that visitors who come can feel rejuvenated and interested in visiting again, and the application of tropical designs can be applied to the interior of the resort facilities to respond to climatic conditions in Ubud, Bali. The research method used in this design is by conducting literature studies, field observations, and direct interviews with parties related to the resort to obtain the data needed in the design. Field observations were carried out at the Amandari resort located in Ubud, Bali and interviews were conducted directly with the staff from the Amandari resort. The resort design project is intended as a stay and relaxation facility for local and foreign tourists to restore their freshness. The resort is designed to provide comfortable and supportive lodging facilities for self-relaxation and to bring a calm and soothing feeling to guests with other supporting facilities. The resort designed is a 5-star resort located in Ubud, Bali with the main facilities as lodging and other supporting facilities for recreation. This resort has a target of domestic and foreign tourists who visit to get peace from business and to relax. The alignment of local wisdom and tropical design approach is then formulated into the design concept which takes the theme from Hindu mythology, namely Dewi Saraswati who is a symbol of wisdom as well as one of the Goddess of the River. The theme then produces three main keywords that are used as references to realize the vision and mission of the design, which are Honesty, Serene, and Lush. Keywords are implemented in other concepts in this design, such as lighting, air conditioning, material and color selection, and building form to answer the solutions to existing problems.
