ANALYSIS THE CAUSES OF STUNTING IN WEST JAVA PROVINCE WITH K-MEANS CLUSTERING METHOD AND SPATIAL DURBIN MODEL

Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five years old (babies under five years old) as a result of malnutrition so that toddlers have a length or height that is less than their age. The 2019 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) showed that Indonesia's national stunting prev...

INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/65315 Stunting is a condition of failure to thrive in children under five years old (babies under five years old) as a result of malnutrition so that toddlers have a length or height that is less than their age. The 2019 Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) showed that Indonesia's national stunting prevalence reached 27.97%. This means that around 6.5 million children in that year were stunted. Based on Basic Health Research (Riskesdas) data in 2019, it shows that the prevalence of stunting in West Java Province reached 26.21% or close to the national stunting prevalence rate. Even 4 districts/cities in West Java Province, namely: Bogor, Tasikmalaya, West Bandung, and Cimahi City, have stunting prevalence of more than 30% (BPS-Kemenkes, 2019). Stunting is caused by multi-dimensional factors and is not only caused by poor nutrition experienced by pregnant women and children under five. The map shows the influence of place or spatial on the prevalence of stunting and various factors causing it for West Java Province. The influence of several multi-dimensional factors on the stunting prevalence rate in 27 cities and districts in West Java can be seen using clustering and spatial regression methods. The clustering method that will be used is K-means Clustering and the spatial regression model used is the Spatial Durbin Model (SDM). Spatial regression modeling is done by using three alternatives to generate and select the best model. The spatial effect test, the classical assumption of regression test and the test of choosing the Spatial Durbin Model were carried out on three models in the framework of the best model. The first alternative Spatial Durbin model is the best model produced with an Adjusted ????2 value of 0.67202. The model shows that the more clean water facilities, health facilities, and proper sanitation, the lower the stunting prevalence rate in West Java. text
