Description
Summary:Abstract:

Geophysical data with high-level noise may lead to geologically unrealistic information. High-level noise in the data incresases the ambiguity in the modeling of the data. The objective of this final project is to study the application of 9-node averaging and median filter to geoelectrical data with pole-pole configuration. Synthetic data contaminated by random noisewith Gaussian distribution, outliers and geological noise were processed by using those filters. Result from processing of synthetic and field data show than median filter is most opprociate for data contaminated by outliers. This kind of noise is frequently present in the geo-electrical data as measurement and instrumental noise.
