This is supported by conditions in Southeast Asia which has a tropical climate and most of the employment opportunities work in this sector. It is estimated that there will be a two-thirds increase in energy demand in 2040, while for electricity demand there will be a two-fold increase in global energy demand. However, currently the use of renewable biomass energy, especially agriculture, is still rarely done. This study aims to determine the optimal location of a biomass power plant (PLTBm) sourced from agricultural residues using some spatial data including land cover, infrastructure, energy demand, urban and rural areas, protected areas, planting distribution, river bodies, and slopes. Crop distribution data are used to calculate energy potential from agricultural biomass, while other data are used to determine suitability areas based on environmental, social, and economic aspects.. The results of the study show that Southeast Asia has 163 potential generating points in Southeast Asia with countries that have the highest potential for biomass energy, which Indonesia have 41 potential generating points and Malaysia with 20 potential generating points. These results expected can be used to support the government in determining the area of power generation from biomass in Southeast Asia. text
