Description
Summary:ABSTRACT:

In Development Planning of Bandung Metropolitan Area, Cimahi City has function as residence and industrial area, also identified as a rapid growth city. Rapid growth of Cimahi City increase land use and reduce infiltration area. Only 32.76percent of its area has been developed. Average rainfall in Cimahi City is 2000 mm/year and its runoff discharge is 20,287,820 m3/year from calculation by modification rational method. The existing drainage system can not hold runoff in great quantities anymore. Consequently, flood happen in Cimahi City when rainy season. The solution of flood problem in Cimahi City is environmental drainage system application. Cimahi watershed has been chosen as a study area for this environmental drainage system application. The main priority is runoff management by developing rainfall retention facilities, specifically shallow infiltration well and detention basin. The great permeability of Cimahi City soil (1.67x10-3 cm/s) becomes support factor to build shallow infiltration well. Shallow infiltration well potential which can be built is 28,922. Shallow infiltration well will be applied in almost every part of study area, except Kelurahan Cibeber and Kelurahan Leuwigajah where not fulfill slope criteria. Four detention basins have been planned in Cimahi watershed with total discharge capacity 10.34m3/s. Shallow infiltration well and detention basin can infiltrate 11,876,650.48 m3/year of water.
