PT Surabaya Wire is a manufacturing company that produces nails and wire. One of the largest wire productions is bendrat wire or BWG 21. The diameter of BWG 21 is about 0.8 mm. In February 2022, BWG 21 did not reach the production target. The existence of this production debt if it occurs continuously then customer satisfaction decreases, and the company loses market share and sales potential. Increased production in manufacturing can be done by finding the optimal combination of factors that affect the production process. This can be done by using the Taguchi Orthogonal Array method. Because experimental activities in the production process cannot be carried out in the existing process, the experiment is carried out using a simulation model that resembles the actual situation. There are 31 factors identified that influenced the production process which included the work shift of each drawing machine in the BWG 21 production process, the work shift of the coiling and weighing workstation, the work shift of the packaging workstation, the batch size of each drawing machine, the batch size of the coiling and weighing workstation, and the batch size of the oven process. The optimal combination of these factors results in an average production of BWG 21 or bendrat an increase of 538 packs per day. With the addition of production costs of Rp3,901,904.47 per day, the increase in BWG 21 or bendrat production is predicted to provide an increincreasee of Rp48,554,500 per day. text
