But so far the utilisation of pineapple fruit waste is limited only to animal feed and fertiliser. In the process, pineapple fruit waste is simply disposed of in the soil and rarely processed. The annual production of pineapple is very high. One of the highest pineapple-producing areas in West Java is Subang. The total production of pineapple fruit in 2020 stood at 187,448.2 tons with the composition of pineapple waste reaching 40% with 5% of the skin shell from pineapple fruit production, equivalent to 2,447.24 thousand tons per year. This number is huge. The characteristic of pineapple waste itself is fibrous. Therefore, research wants to develop the potential of pineapple waste into a processed material that can be used in the development of product design through processing sheet materials and other exploration methods so as to provide value to pineapple waste text
