INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/65532 The magnetotelluric method (MT) is one of the geophysical exploration techniques that image the earth's subsurface in the form of resistivity distribution. It is a passive electromagnetic (EM) method because it uses a natural signal source. Changes in the electric and magnetic fields over time due to the interaction of the solar wind with the ionosphere and magnetosphere layers and global lightning activity are measured and processed to obtain apparent resistivity and phase as a function of frequency. Based on these data, a resistivity to depth model was made. This study aims to get the apparent resistivity and phase values for each frequency from the MT time series data. Then make a resistivity to depth model with 1-D inversion modeling. Finally, get a geological interpretation of the model created. This study uses secondary MT data from seventeen measurement points in X region. The apparent resistivity and phase data were obtained from the MT time-series data processing, with a smooth curve at frequencies above 1 Hz. At frequencies below 1 Hz, the resistivity and phase values were found with high error bars. After 1-D inversion modeling, visual models of the resistivity distribution against depth show the existence of a geothermal system in area X. With an estimate of the prospect area near the intersection of lines A and B. text |

The magnetotelluric method (MT) is one of the geophysical exploration techniques that image the earth's subsurface in the form of resistivity distribution.
