Result of the evaluation process will be used as a guidance to design the new WTP. The new WTP will be designed to fulfill the need of clean water in Kendari Township for next 20 years, and its construction will be divided into two steps. The first step has 180 litres/second capacity and the second one has 180 litres/second capacity. The new WTP will be located in Kecamatan Mandonga, nearby the existing WTP. Raw water for the new WTP will be taken from Pohara River, which is located at plus 4,00 m height, and has an elevation difference from the existing WTP at plus 60 m. Based on laboratory analysis, there are four parameters in Pohara River water which exceed clean water quality standard issued by Indonesia Ministry of Health on Peraturan Menteri Kesehatan RI No. 416/MENKES/PER/IX/1990 in 1990, they are color, turbidity, iron, and organic compound. Therefore, the new WTP will have intake, retention basin, coagulation, floculation, sedimentation, filtration, reservoir as its units. The new WTP will also be equipped with some supporting buildings, such as chemical adding unit, water tower, sludge treatment unit, and office building. The construction of the new WTP will cost 21,000,000,000 rupiahs. text |
