Description
Summary:Rice Straw is plant that become largest agricultural waste and utilization hasn’t been maximized. It usually burned by farmers cause air pollution, RTI and global warming. Therefore, it’s necessary use it to be acoustic panel as raw material for making phone amplifiers. This study are to identify the material characteristics of rice straw and their acoustic panels, determine their mechanical & acoustic potential, and develop the design of phone amplifier. This study show that rice straw’s characteristics slightly brittle and easily broken, but if using the right technique such as hot press it can produce strong mechanical characteristics and have aesthetic value from the texture and motif. Results of acoustic test showed that there was a change in sound intensity before and after using phone amplifier but wasn’t too significant. The results of the mechanical test of the board sample showed that the board had a flexural toughness value of 206.72 kgf/cm2 and was included in the SNI-03-2105- 2006 standard. Results of the drop test showed that there were some damages, but weren’t serious, only show such as dents on the ends of it. The results of developing phone amplifier’s design using a concept according the characteristics of the material. The target market for this product are teenagers who like listen to music and love eco-friendly products. The moodboard’s keywords are natural and simple and the design sketches by arranging boards that have been shaped according to horizontal pattern using wood glue adhesive to glued the boards to one another.
