Summary: | Waste is one of the main problems today, especially in countries with a large water surface area, including Indonesia. Waste in the water will affect water quality and water ecosystem. There are so many cases of animals that die due to consuming waste in the water. For this purposes, by using conveyor to collect the waste in water, the trash skimmer is created. The design of the trash skimmer is based on Archimedes’ Law. The trash skimmer is designed to be able to transport large amounts of trash, but not sink or have difficulty to move. In this research, communication system, control system, drive system, waste transfer system, and waste capacity warning system will be designed. Based on testing the water level sensor on the waste capacity warning system, from the comparison of the actual water level value and the water level calculated by using water level sensor, the average error value is 2.86%. The testing was carried out by taking data from 0 cm to 4 cm in 0.1 cm range. The maximum mass of the waste that can be collected is
6.4 kg for each operation of the trash skimmer and the maximum volume of the waste is 0.016 m3. Waste capacity warning system has been working properly. Condition of the trash skimmer on the water can be seen through the sound of the buzzer and can be accessed through the API dashboard for Grafana. |
