Determination of national boundaries can be a basic guideline in avoiding claims that result in disputes over ownership of an area. The reference used in defining the sea boundary is the baseline or baseline. The baseline is formed from the base points located at the outermost point on the outermost island. The position of the base point and baseline can be influenced by shoreline dynamics. The dynamics of the shoreline can cause the position of the base point and the baseline to be not optimal. There are four classifications of base point conditions and baselines that are not optimal, namely the base line crossing the land, the base point being on land, the position of the base point and baseline not being exactly coincident, the base point being at sea and quite far from the coast. In this study, the selection of base points and baselines is not optimal due to changes in shoreline. Then the magnitude and rate of abrasion and accretion in the area around the base point and baseline are not optimal. The data used is remote sensing image data. By using the image data, the process of forming the coastline and calculating the amount of abrasion and accretion will be carried out. The results obtained from this study are the magnitude of accretion and abrasion from each study area. Then from the results obtained will be analyzed in relation to the conditions of the base point and baseline that are not optimal. text
