Summary: | Oil and gas in Indonesia have been a long-standing commodity industry that significantly contributes to the country's development. Meraup Field, one of the mature, productive field has been jointly operated by PT Meraup with its partner, a state-owned entity. In operating the Meraup Field, the Company’s SCM Division has been stranded with the synchronization issues encountered with its personnel at Jakarta Head Office and Jambi Field, which impacts the operation and production of the Meraup Field.
In tackling the issues, this writing utilizes the Knowledge Management discipline to determine business issues, root causes, and solutions to the business issues. It covers the knowledge, knowledge management frameworks of People-Process-Technology (PPT), Socialization-Externalization-Combination-Internalization (SECI), and Knowledge Management Roadmap to assess the issues, generation of solutions, and timeline to implement the solutions. Using the qualitative approach, the information gathered through interviews, observation and experiences of the author. The information revealed concerns with SECI and PPT, due to the knowledge acquisition in the form of training, only centralized for the Jakarta Head Office personnel and the absence of the required knowledge sharing and documentation platform within the SCM Division of PT Meraup.
The data analysis was used to develop the business solution, which was then crafted for the creation of the implementation plan. The business solutions cover the establishment of Knowledge Management discipline throughout a series of activities that cover the documentation of knowledge, knowledge sharing, the establishment of a knowledge repository, and optimizing more communication channels available using the latest technology facility, i.e. WhatsApp group and Zoom meeting. In order to ensure the implementation of the business solutions, the implementation plan is prepared with a timeline to ensure the discipline and continuity of the implementation of the Knowledge Management in PT Meraup. |
