Different urban structures make each city have a variety of different problems, therefore in managing a city it is very important to pay attention to the shape of the structure of urban space. The Gerbangkertosusila area is the second largest metropolitan area in Indonesia, centered in the city of Surabaya and is one of the National Strategic Areas (KSN) on the island of Java which has a very important role. Developments in the city of Surabaya, which is the center of Gerbangkertosusila, have become centers of activity and attract inter-regional movements so that problems often occur, one of which is traffic jams. One of the efforts that can be done in solving the congestion problem is through good transportation system planning. The transportation system itself is regulated in the spatial plan, especially the spatial structure plan. In preparing the spatial structure plan, it is necessary to know in advance about the spatial structure of the area itself. In response to this, this research will be carried out with the aim of identifying the structure of urban space based on the pattern of commuter movement in the Gerbangkertosusila Metropolitan. The identification of the urban spatial structure is seen from the spatial interactions that occur between regions in the Gerbangkertosusila Metropolitan through the Origin Destination Survey method which consists of a Desire Line Map and an Origin Destination Matrix. The results of the analysis show that the Metropolitan Gerbangkertosusila still tends to be monocentric because the difference between the generation and attraction of the City of Surabaya and other areas is quite large.
