INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/65767 Population growth has resulted in high demand in the energy sector to meet daily needs in various sectors of activity. The high level of demand in the energy sector causes an increase in greenhouse gases that have the potential to cause global warming to climate change which has a negative impact on living ecosystems. Therefore, the United Nations (UN) held the Paris Agreement convention that aims to reduce CO2 emissions by 3.5% every year until 2050 so as to limit the increase in the earth's temperature to 2ºC. The energy sector is a major contributor to global greenhouse gas emissions, so action is needed to decarbonize system mechanisms in the energy sector. The application of renewable energy (RE) is applied in fulfilling the energy transition to reduce the level of greenhouse gas emissions. Indonesia has a national target to increase the use of RE by 31% by 2050. In this case, the planning of the energy sector in Java-Bali using LEAP with three energy sector modeling scenarios with a decrease in the final energy intensity up to 23% against the baseline, achieving the RE mix of up to 54.4% in 2050, and achieving a reduction in greenhouse gas emissions of up to 45% in 2050 text
