ULTRASONIC TOMOGRAPHY ANISOTROPY ANALYSIS OF SDW-2 CORE IN RESERVOIR CHARACTERIZATION FOR SADEWA FIELD, KUTAI BASIN, EAST KALIMANTAN

The Kutai Basin is the second largest hydrocarbon basin in Indonesia. Sadewa Field is one of the fields being developed, which requires good modeling and interpretation. Good modeling and interpretation requires knowledge of the effects of anisotropy, and its relationship to the physical and elas...

Sadewa Field is one of the fields being developed, which requires good modeling and interpretation. Good modeling and interpretation requires knowledge of the effects of anisotropy, and its relationship to the physical and elastic properties of source and reservoir rocks. The ultrasonic tomography method uses ultrasonic waves with high frequency so that it can measure small structures and provide more precise results regarding the elastic properties of rocks and anisotropy parameters. SDW-2 rock core samples are in the depth range of 10897.5 ft to 11198.5 ft measured depth with a total of 12 samples. Measurements of rock core samples were carried out at various angles using the Vertically Transverse Isotropic (VTI) model. From the measurement results, it is obtained that the travel time data for P and S waves with various angles (0°, 45°, and 90°) are processed into anisotropy parameter data (????, ????, ????, and ?) of core samples. SDW-2 rock. Ultrasonic tomography measurement data is also processed using the MSIRT algorithm which produces data on physical properties and data on elastic properties of rock core samples. Furthermore, analysis of the relationship between anisotropy parameters with data on physical properties and data on elastic properties of rock core samples was carried out. The results of the analysis of these relationships are correlated to produce R^2 values for each anisotropy parameter (????, ????, ????, dan ?). text
