Description
Summary:Since its release in 2018 by the Indonesian government, the Internet of Things (IoT) has become a new phenomenon in the national industrial revolution. The industrial revolution 4.0 signifies a systematic change in human life, especially the Indonesian industry which is driven by the convergence of digital innovation and human life. Automation is an innovation that reduces repetitive activities leading to time and energy efficiency. This will certainly have a good impact on the industrial economy in Indonesia. At this writing, the author designs a manufacturing business of IoT implementation technology in the hope of being able to solve the need for automation for companies and housing so that they can follow the era of the industrial revolution 4.0 reducing repetitive activities and being able to monitor the use of electrical power so that users can streamline electricity usage and costs by developing automation products according to market needs. In this study, 2 methods of data collection were used, namely quantitative methods as market research to determine market needs and qualitative methods to test prototype results. In writing this final project using a low-fidelity prototype which aims to streamline costs and save time in making prototypes. The results we obtained after processing data collection were that more than 74% of Indonesians agreed regarding the efficiency of using electric power, one of which was to save on bills or buy electricity tokens. The criteria for products that can use energy efficiently are: systems that are able to use energy efficiently, are flexible, safe, and have good product durability. Based on the results of the prototype test obtained through interviews with 2 business people in the field of electronics and communication, and 1 researcher in the telecommunications sector, the results obtained are that the concept of the prototype has met the minimum standards required. By doing some research and seeing the test results on the prototype. We get important information in planning a strategy for making new products where the first thing is to know the market needs and the second is to make an efficient strategy design where the strategy has steps, clear division of tasks, measurable targets, and of course a strategy which is flexible so that it can quickly adapt to the conditions that occur in the field.
