DECISION ANALYSIS TO SOLVE OIL PRODUCTION PROBLEM IN INTER FIELD WELL WITH VALUE FOCUS THINKING (VFT) AND ANALYTIC HIERARCHY PROCESS (AHP)

PT. Pertamina-EP, a state-owned upstream oil and gas company, face challenge which is most of its production areas are mature fields. One of Efforts made by Pertamina-EP are to carry out exploitation and exploration in inter-structure areas, one of which is by drilling the eastern Cemara structure which is the outer side of Cemara structure. In 2019 the drilling of the ZVR-19 well began, in that drilling the potential for the OS-4 layer was obtained; at the beginning of production; 780 bfpd/ 721 bcpd/ 8.3%/ 3.9 Mmscfd. With such a large production, ZVR-19 well is one of the largest oil and gas producers in Jatibarang field, almost 10% of production comes from this well. During approximately 2 years of production, the OS-4 layer of the ZVR-19 well continued to decline. This study focuses on finding the best alternative to increase the production of the OS-4 layer of the ZVR-19 well so that the well can produce according to its optimal capacity. To simplify the process of evaluating problem and finding root cause, several methods were used, such as SWOT analysis, Kepner-Tregoe Analysis and then refined with Fishbone diagrams and Pareto analysis. To obtain the criteria for the selection process and narrow down the alternative solutions, the Value Focused Thinking (VFT) method is used, then the decision-making process uses the Analytic Hierarchy Process (AHP) method. Based on the research that has been done, the best alternative solution to overcome the problem of decreasing production in the ZVR-19 well is to carry out a Hydraulic Fracturing project. The decision-making process has considered the Cost and Benefit criteria as Key Performance Indicators (KPI) of the company. The Hydraulic Fracturing design that will be carried out is by pumping 20,000 klbs of propane sand into the reservoir and is expected to produce a 28 m Propped Frac Length, 27 m frac height and 22 Dimensionless Frac Conductivity. By implementing this program, it is expected that there will be a production gain of 200 BOPD oil and 1 MMSCFD gas.
