INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/66045 North Sumatra Cultural Park is a facility owned by the Culture and Tourism Department of North Sumatra Province located in Medan City, managed by UPT Taman Budaya with the function of being a center for training, coaching, and performing arts and culture. The study was conducted using a qualitative method based on field observations, interviews and literature studies which were elaborated using a qualitative descriptive method, with the findings that the existing condition of the interior of the North Sumatra Cultural Park is not currently optimal in terms of the functions of education, recreation and appreciation of cultural arts and has not met the standard of facility needs based on Guidelines for Standardization of Cultural Parks (Ministry of Education and Culture RI, 1981/1982). The regionalism approach is still foreign in the interior realm, so the author conducted a literature study and concluded a new definition of interior regionalism which was developed into a concept and an interior redesign recommendation with the addition of educational, recreational, and cultural arts appreciation functions which are expected to be one of the solutions to facilitate a healthy creative ecosystem, productive for artists, culturalists and members of the arts and culture community in Medan City and its surroundings, as well as increasing the attractiveness and making the North Sumatra Cultural Park a representative art and cultural tourism destination. text
