Description
Summary:Bioluminescence is a light-producing chemical reaction in organisms that is rare to found, and is a part of a studied material for teenagers. The infrequency of bioluminescence has caused difficulties to provide information through adequate and appealing media to teenagers. The design of this final assignment is formulated to understand what information should be known as an introduction to bioluminescence for junior high school students, and how to create virtual reality animation, with the objectives of creating an impactful dan imaginative experience on introducing bioluminescence to teenagers through virtual reality animation. Research methods involve quantitative approach through surveys, qualitative approach by doing interviews, and study on literatures. Design methods are done by creating script and storyboard in pre-production stage. Then continued by making visual assets and animating using AfterEffects as a part of production, and video editing, adding music, sound effects, and special effects in post-production stage. This result in the creation of a virtual reality animation capable of helping teenagers to recognize bioluminescence through virtual simulation experience. As a conclusion, bioluminescence is difficult to identify by teenagers for its rarity and insufficient information. Therefore, it is hoped that the use of virtual reality animation can ease teenagers in knowing bioluminescence conveniently and intuitively.
