INSTITUT TEKNOLOGI BANDUNG https://digilib.itb.ac.id/gdl/view/66086 Conflicts over power issues in various nations in the world cause wars and the emergence of social problems, and the worst impact befalls the people and local communities. One of the countries in the world that experiencing prolonged conflict is Afghanistan which is recorded in the country's historical track record. during the war, many residents had to flee, it is recorded in its history that even important figures in Afghanistan fled to seek asylum in other countries. Indonesia is one of the transit countries for asylum seekers because Indonesia is not a country that signed the 1951 convention, so it can protect temporary refugees in Indonesia. One of the many countries seeking asylum due to the prolonged war in their country is Afghanistan. Refugees usually need a long time to wait in Indonesia for their resettlement. The transit period has a major impact on asylum seekers, both those in detention camps and those living among Indonesian citizens. The final project of the master's study program is creating works of art and writing this thesis entitled Eternal Waiting. The author will describe theories related to the refugee problem, as well as explain asylum seekers and the factors that cause asylum seekers to wait a dozen years in transit countries. The author assumes that the 1951 convention and the 1967 Protocol have not been implemented properly by the countries that have signed the convention. This is most likely what causes refugees to wait for years. The author is an artist from Afghanistan who has experienced waiting, then raised the issue as the subject and object of this Final Project. The problem of asylum seekers experiencing injustice in this situation. This problem inspired the writer as an artist, then visualized it on canvas using painting techniques, while Contemporary Miniature Painting and Visual Language became the reference for the concept and symbolic aesthetic style by taking visual elements from Afghanistan and Indonesia to narrate it in a visual form. This final project of art creation is one of the author's efforts and solutions to remind the public and is expected to bring them to think about change. This work is also expected to be a kind of record of social reality and a warning about the problem of asylum seekers in the form of paintings. text
