Indonesia is one of the largest archipelago and maritime countries in the world consisting of more than 17,504 islands with 13,466 islands that have been named and has a coastline of 99,093 km (KKP, 2018). It does not rule out the possibility of the diversity of coral reef species in Indonesia. However, the richness of coral reef species and the ecosystems in them have been damaged and endangered due to damage from fishing activities by bombing and using cyanide in the sea. Physically, the Oceanarium is an aquarium that displays fish and marine life in an imitation of a natural ecosystem as a means of education and observation of the underwater world. But philosophically, the oceanarium aims to remind the importance of underwater life for human life living on land. The design of the oceanarium was designed with the main objective of making it a center for the conservation and preservation of coral reefs in Wakatobi. The methods used are literature studies and comparative studies with oceanariums in other countries. Theend result of this design is an oceanarium that can accommodate all vation and recreational activities that can have a major impact on revitalizing Indonesia'scoral reef ecosystems.
