Description
Summary:The Deli watershed is part of the Belawan-Ular-Padang River Basin with the status of a National Strategic River Basin based on the Regulation of the Minister of Public Works and Public Housing Number 04/PRT/M/2015. The Deli watershed is one of the potential raw water supplies in 3 (three) cities/regencies in North Sumatra, namely Medan City, Deli Serdang Regency, and Karo Regency. In this study, the system dynamics and Analytical Hierarchy Process (AHP) were used to study the condition of the carrying capacity of water resources in the Deli watershed. From the results of the integration of system dynamics and AHP, an index of carrying capacity of water resources is obtained which can describe the condition of carrying capacity of water resources in the Deli watershed. In 2019, the water resource carrying capacity index of the Deli watershed showed normal conditions. After 2019, at business as usual condition, the carrying capacity of Deli watershed water resources tends to decrease to a poor status in 2038. The carrying capacity of Deli watershed water resources can increase every year until it has a fine status in 2038 if there is an integration of programs to reduce birth rates and in-migration rates, reduce domestic water use, and forest restoration.
