Shampoo is the biggest contributor to the rapid market growth of hair care products. The form of liquid shampoo causes the shampoo to be packaged using plastic packaging. Plastic waste that is not recycled can disrupt the balance of the ecosystem. The increase in environmental awareness of consumers has encouraged the personal care product industry to innovate in terms of form, formulation, and product packaging of shampoos. One of those innovations is by producing shampoo bars. Shampoo bars have the same function with shampoos in general, only in solid form. CarbonEthics is an organization that aims to educate individuals and institutions of the ways to reduce and offset their carbon footprints by means of blue carbon ecosystem conservation. Seeing the opportunity, CarbonEthics looks to expand its line of business into sustainable personal care products through the Bluease sub-brand. The purpose of this research is to design shampoo bar product that suits CarbonEthics’ target market. The two main methodologies used in this research are Quality Function Deployment (QFD) phase one and supported by the Kano Model. The shampoo bar product concepting process utilizes the Five Steps Model. Each shampoo bar product concept is then assessed using product concept assessment method by Ulrich. The result shows that there are 9 consumer requirements and 9 engineering characteristics for a shampoo bar product. The resulting shampoo bar product concept is a shampoo bar that uses more than 1 type of anionic surfactant, sulphate-free surfactant, cationic surfactant, Eucheuma cotonii extract, and a combination of high, middle, and top note for the aroma. text
