STABILITAS SEDIAAN NANOEMULSI MENGANDUNG MADU, KUNYIT DAN LADA HITAM SERTA AKTIVITAS ANTITUKAK TERHADAP TIKUS WISTAR JANTAN

Gastric ulcer is a common disorder of the digestive system. The combination of turmeric and honey is known to treat stomach ulcers. However, turmeric has limitations, such as poor solubility in water and low oral bioavailability. Therefore, the nanoemulsion was formulated with the addition of bla...

The combination of turmeric and honey is known to treat stomach ulcers. However, turmeric has limitations, such as poor solubility in water and low oral bioavailability. Therefore, the nanoemulsion was formulated with the addition of black pepper to increase bioavailability. The study aimed to determine stability and ulcer healing activity in male Wistar albino rats induced by ethanol. Nanoemulsion was prepared by low energy method. Stability studies include a storage temperature stability study (25 ?2 o C) for 12 weeks, an accelerated study (40 ?2 o C/75 ?5% RH) for 12 weeks, and a freeze-thaw study for 6 cycles. The evaluations of nanoemulsion include organoleptic, particle size, polydispersity index, pH, viscosity, and curcumin content. Male Wistar albino rats (150-250 mg) were induced with ethanol 96%. The antiulcer evaluation was based on the gastric activity, ulcer area, gastric area, ulcer index, curative index, number of ulcers, ulcer severity score, and body weight. The result showed that the nanoemulsion was stable at storage temperature for 4 weeks and freezethaw study until 6 th cycles, yet unstable at accelerated study after 2 weeks. The group was given the nanoemulsion combination of honey-turmeric-black pepper at dose a 2 mL/kg BW had the highest activity in healing ulcers among other groups with a curative index of 85,79%. text
