Description
Summary:Tofu dregs is one of the agro-industrial wastes that is easily found in Indonesia and has the potential to pollute the environment if not utilized. Hermetia illucens or better known as the Black Soldier Fly (BSF) is a bioconversion agent with high nutrient content at the larval stage to be used as animal feed. The high content of nutrients such as protein in tofu dregs is expected to be used as an alternative feed for BSF mass cultivation. This study aims to determine the reproductive potential of BSF fed tofu dregs. This study was conducted on 10 populations with a feed rate 100 mg/larvae/day and observed every day for all stages. The analysis was carried out by constructing a horizontal life table based on adult female insect and determining the population parameter. Ther result show that BSF cultivated with tofu dregs net reproductive rate (????????) was 31,110 offsprings, mean generation time (????) was 52,500 days, intrinsic rate of increase (????????) was 0,066/head/day, and finite rate of increase (????) was 1,068/day which indicates tofu dregs is suitable to be used as an alternative feed for BSF mass cultivation
