Environmental load analysis of refrigerator in retail stores and supermarkets in Bandung City in this study carried out using the LCA approach. With the aim of knowing the environmental load and the functional unit of the refrigerator to identified the impact on the environment and design the scenario for the operation. The characterization factors used are EDIP, ILCD, Recipe and CML. The impact categories carried out in the assessment of potential impacts to weighting are Global Warming Potential, Acidification Potential, Human Toxicity Potential, Eutrophication Potential, and Photochemical Oxidant Potential. The environmental burden of the production phase comes from materials and transportation, the usage phase comes from electricity consumption and refrigerant usage and the end of life phase comes from material recycling. The functional unit used in this study is per liter with adjustment factors A (x 2.21), B (x 1.36), C (x 1.60), D (x 0.71), E ( x 0.59), F (x 0.49), G (x 0.12) and F (x 0.93) correspond to the actual refrigerator volume. Based on the analysis, GWP is the most significant potential impact with a percent impact of 90%, 8% AP, and 2% EP, HTP, and POCP. Electricity use being the largest contributor, which is about 57% of the total life cycle of the refrigerator. The highest global warming potential value is in the supermarket commercial sector, which is 2.26 tCO2e/L. The best improvement scenario to reduce emissions is scenario 1, the optimum emission reduction scenario with refrigerator maintenance efforts. The emission value that can be reduced is 79% on the D and E refrigerator types with the emission value after each reduction is 0.238 tCO2e/L. and 0.057 tCO2e/L. text |
