EXPLORATION OF BIOMORPHIC FORM OF THE COPRINUS COMATUS MUSHROOM WITH FELTING TECHNIQUES IN WEARABLE ART PRODUCTS

Fungi tend to be associated with organisms that cause disease and decay. However, fungi have an important role in the ecosystem which are decomposers (decomposers) and balance the diversity of forest species. Fungi provide essential minerals to land plants and turn the planet green. Basically, hu...

Help affiliation with nature affects the physical condition, especially psychology. Nature is a very good source of learning for humans, especially for nature as a source of inspiration in design. In the art of fiber-textile wearable art is embraced as a new development, involving a process that reflects in-depth knowledge of textiles, materials, styles, forms and manufacturing techniques so that the work has an "artistic" nature that is conveyed. The design of this wearable art product takes the visuals of Coprinus Comatus Mushroom as the main source of inspiration through a Biomorphic approach that can be applied to shapes, materials, mechanism structures, and is obtained through analogies and stylization of natural forms. This mushroom is known by another name the shaggy mane mushroom because it produces a hair-like appearance, it can be adapted using the felting technique, the oldest textile manufacturing technique method by processing wool fibers into cloth by weaving, compacting, and pressing the fibers together. In addition to its infrequent use, the acquisition of the material is quite difficult. Thus, the development and exploration of this technique is still not optimal and less varied. text
