The current period of human life is now inseparable by the advancement of very sophisticated technology and the fast-paced temporal pattern of life. The hysteria of digital technology and the internet can be said to have shifted the meaning of reality. The artist Marisa Olson in her study of the post-internet, describes humans who are living in a world where digitality has entered into all aspects of human life. This phenomenon leads the writer to respond to the immaterial conditions of the post-internet world, and to question the relationship between humans and their reality. In the process of creating the work, the author performs various stages including examining the theory of art as a representation, studying supporting theories regarding the discourse of post-internet, as well as the discourse of escapism to understand the current phenomenon. The author tries to transform this scope by studying the concept of interactivity in the medium of installation art. This work is the author’s creation in an attempt to explore the animated nature of flipbook, and to emphasize the material experience to the audience. The title of the work “Homo Alteratio” was chosen to represent the author's idea of escapism as a human being trapped in a post-internet world. text |

Homo Alteratio is an interactive animated flipbook installation that aims to
represent the idea of human everyday life in the 21st century. The current period of
human life is now inseparable by the advancement of very sophisticated technology
and the fast-paced temporal pattern of life. The hysteria of digital technology and
the internet can be said to have shifted the meaning of reality. The artist Marisa
Olson in her study of the post-internet, describes humans who are living in a world
where digitality has entered into all aspects of human life. This phenomenon leads
the writer to respond to the immaterial conditions of the post-internet world, and
to question the relationship between humans and their reality.
In the process of creating the work, the author performs various stages including
examining the theory of art as a representation, studying supporting theories
regarding the discourse of post-internet, as well as the discourse of escapism to
understand the current phenomenon. The author tries to transform this scope by
studying the concept of interactivity in the medium of installation art.
This work is the author’s creation in an attempt to explore the animated nature of
flipbook, and to emphasize the material experience to the audience. The title of the
work “Homo Alteratio” was chosen to represent the author's idea of escapism as a
