COAL MODELLING AND RESOURCES ESTIMATION AT PT ABC, ACEH BARAT REGENCY, ACEH PROVINCE

The research was conducted to modelling and estimating coal resource by using exploration data such as drilling results data and topographic surveys. Case study was held at South Block in PT ABC’s mining permit area, located in West Aceh Regency, Aceh Province. The data used is primary data from exploration results that were completed in 2019 with a total of 89 exploration drill holes and 34 drill holes quality data. It is known that in the study area, South Block has 15 coal seams with a general strike direction of northwest and seam dip direction of about 3°. Geology in the research area is classified as simple geology based on SNI 5015:2019 with aspects used as considerations including sedimentation, tectonic, and quality aspects. The resources estimation is calculated based on the SNI 5015: 2019 on coal seams D, E, F, and G with depth limitation -100 m. The estimated resources in the study area are 96,90 million tons measured classification, 7,26 million tons on indicated classification, and 2,88 million ton on inferred classification. Based on the review of economic and technical aspects including coal utilization and hauling plan, the coal resources estimation in the research area is appropriate due to reasonable coal prospects to be further investigated.
