Description
Summary:Toraja is an area that is rich in culture, one of which is literature. One example of such literature is folklore. For this reason, media is needed to introduce Toraja culture, one of which is folklore. In this study, the folklore of Paerengan sola Lebonna is raised. This story tells of a couple who tied the knot for life and death, but in the end his wife Lebonna committed suicide upon hearing the news that her husband had died, but this was not true. In this story, the spirit of Lebonna performs Bating (wailing of sadness) to express her sadness because her husband, Paerengan, forgot the promise that had been made, namely that they would live as long as death and even the caterpillars would stay together. This work focuses on processing as well as visual stories and exploring techniques with embellishments with a focus on wearable art designs. The visualization of this work is guided by the theory of the three acts of the story, which divides the story into three large parts.
