Summary: | Humans are social creatures. If human needs are described in a hierarchy, when a
person has fulfilled their basic or primary needs, the next needs that will be met are
psychological needs such as friendship, family, self-esteem, and the top of the pyramid
is the need for self-actualization. This is where the behavior, actions, and social
practices of humans can be seen in achieving these needs, including social interaction
in the public sphere. Public spaces facilitate people to meet and interact with one
another in the context of the whole community. In this study, the manufacture of
interactive ceramics for social interaction in public spaces is intended to maximize the
function of public spaces as a means for users to conduct social interactions. This
research produces an output in the form of changing the type of social interaction in
the public space from unfocused interaction to focused interaction. |
