Artocarpus is one of the main genuses in Moraceae, in which the largest of its variety is found in Indonesia. One of the plants from Artocarpus that quite interesting for phytochemical studies is Kelewih (A. communis). Two prenylated flavonoids, kudraflavon C and artokarpin, have been isolated in this research which was done on the heartwood of Kelewih (A. communis) from West Java. The molecular structures of the isolated compounds were determined based on the analysis of spectroscopic data, including UV, IR, and NMR spectra. The discovery of kudraflavon C in Kelewih (A. communis) plant is for the first time. |
