Description
Summary:Special Purpose Forest Area (SPFA) Mount Geulis University Forest is a university forest area surrounded by eight villages and has close relationships with the surrounding community. The very strategic position of Mount Geulis makes Mount Geulis vulnerable to various stresses, including anthropogenic. Ideally, area management with collaborative management can potentially improve welfare and the economy with the synergy of all relevant actors. However, the community's use of Mount Geulis has not been accompanied by an increase in protected functions. This study aims to formulate recommendations for collaborative management to improve the protective function of Mount Geulis and the welfare of the surrounding community. The methods used in this research are land cover dynamics, forest canopy density, forest fire vulnerability, community vulnerability, community dependence, interpretive structural modeling, and integrated framework collaborative governance. The analysis results show that the highest priority rehabilitation locations are in the villages of Cisempur, Mangunarga and Sawahdadap, with a total area of 16.74 hectares. Communities around Mount Geulis have a high level of dependence on Mount Geulis. Villages with a high level of vulnerability are Cikahuripan Village and Raharja Village, with a Composite Vulnerability Index (CVI) of 0.71 and 0.70, respectively. There are 17 stakeholders who play a role in the management of Gunung Geulis, with the KHDTK Manager of HP Gunung Geulis ITB as the centre with the value of driver-power and dependence 17. To create sustainable collaborative management, all stakeholders need to: (1) add human resources to assist management; (2) formulate and implement a permit system and area utilization; (3) improve coordination between stakeholders; (4) seek additional resources to support the ongoing collaborative management; (5) formulate and implement a coordination system with government agencies; (6) provide guidance, education, and training for the surrounding community; (7) transitioning the utilization of the area into a tourism and educational facility; and (8) carry out rehabilitation in very high-priority rehabilitation areas.
