Summary: | Lembang is one of the tourist destinations in Kabupaten Bandung Barat which
holds various tourism potentials, such as nature tourism, culture, and others. However,
since the Covid-19 pandemic, tourism activities in Lembang have been hampered and
have stopped. Various efforts have been made, but the adaptability of the government is
not enough, as well as a comprehensive and targeted policy framework to create
resilience. Resilience is the ability or capacity to bounce back or respond positively to the
harmful effects of a disaster. Research conducted by Sharma, Thomas, & Paul (2001)
with the title Reviving Tourism Industry Post-COVID-19: A Resilience-Based Framework
resulted in a recovery policy framework called the resilience-based framework which is
the frame of reference in this research.
Research data consisted of secondary data obtained from literature studies and
primary data collected through interviews with tourism actors and direct observations to
tourist attractions in Lembang. The data obtained were analyzed by qualitative
descriptive analysis to analyze the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic, the response of the
government, technological innovation, and perceptions of tourist attraction managers.
The results of the study show that the Covid-19 pandemic had greatly impacted
tourist destinations in Lembang, ranging from a decrease in the number of tourists and
revenue, an increase in the number of unemployement and poor people, also tourism
facilities was damaged. The response made by the local government in dealing with the
impact of the Covid-19 pandemic consists of improving attractions and accessibility,
training attraction managers and other assistance such as procurement of medical
equipment and others. However, procurement assistance as well as post-Covid-19
attractions and facilities still needs to be improved by the government to help communitymanaged attractions. Technological innovations used for marketing tourist attractions
online are already running well, improvements are still needed in developing virtual
tours. Meanwhile, the perception of tourism power managers on the provision of facilities
and support in aspects of cleanliness and health still needs to be improved, especially
attractions managed by the community. |
